Today's adventures in jam...

I stopped at haymarket on the way home from brunch today and got strawberries.  The strawberry jam is cooling now.  My impression of it based on the bits I tasted in the pot is much sweeter and less interesting than the raspberry.  I guess both that the strawberries aren't as good at holding up to the honey, and that 3.5 cups of strawberries and 5 raspberries against 1 cup of honey is not really the same, even if I mentally round both to 'about 4.'

Future plans: blackberry.  Possibly something involving gooseberries, kiwi or coconut (not all at the some time.)  frolain  wants to make marmalade, which I can support.  Really, the plan is to pick something at Russo's next week and try it.  Also, I need to start giving some jam away for real, because, uh, while we did eat two jars of the raspberry last week, this is going to build up.
