Just finished
making raspberry
jam, from berries we picked yesterday. We used honey instead of sugar, and less than is usual, so the jam is tart, but also tasty. It was shockingly easy, especially in comparison to our adventures in separating curds and whey. I'm not quite sure what to do with it all; 6 jars of jam is a lot.
It was fun enough that I'd gladly do it again, though it's not a money-saver when you pick your own berries. It might be if we hit haymarket at the right time. And we can try interesting flavors and combos if we make our own.
