Last weekend was Falconridge folk festival. [livejournal.com profile] frolain and I drove up thursday morning with a few other people, and arrived in the early afternoon. The new location (FRFF moved this year because the farm it was on was sold and the new owners wanted to farm instead of having 10,000 people walk all over it each summer) was amazingly similar in the layout of stages, food vendors, first aid, etc, everything except the camping. Camping was already pretty full in the areas we'd hoped for, but we eventually found a place on relatively flat ground. No shade, but near the showers. This turned out to be a great spot, in my opinion. We'll have to try for something nearby again next year. Read more... )

After a light lunch we headed home, where, just as we arrived, I saw the first butterfly I've ever seen in my yard. It was on the butterfly bush no less. This makes me feel like I can actually attract wildlife other than nasty pigeons and squirrels to my yard. It may also have contributed to my focus on butterfly attracting plants when we went to the garden store yesterday.
